A Day in the Life of the "Lagoda" and a Whaling Voyage In-Person

Join New Bedford Whaling Museum docents Capt. Michael Taylor and Nancy Gentile for a discussion of “A Day in the Life of the Lagoda and a Whaling Voyage." This illustrated program explores 19th-century whaling through the lens of crew life, ship design, global trade, and the evolution of the industry – from New Bedford to the Arctic and beyond. This lecture also features "Sister Sailors: Whaling Wives," spotlighting the women who sailed alongside their husbands, and includes live demonstrations of baleen and harpoons.
