Why We Vote In-Person

Most of us would agree that this coming election is the most consequential in our lifetime. This course is based on a recently released book by the same title by Owen Fiss, a renowned international legal scholar. Each chapter in the book focuses on a Supreme Court case that enlarged the freedom that democracy generates, and those cases will provide the material for discussion in the 6 sessions. The 6-week course will begin on Friday, September 13 at 10:30 in Mashpee Public Library’s Event Room and will proceed for the next 5 Fridays (except we will not meet on Friday, October 4).

The course is taught by Dr. Jane Scarborough, a retired professor of Constitutional Law. She holds a PhD in American Constitutional History from Rice University, and a Juris Doctor degree from Northeastern University School of Law.

The class is open to 65 participants. Registration is required. Participants should register for the first class only, but will be signed up for the entire series.
